Abstract

This research aims to: 1) study the participation of local villager's in urban development at Pakse city, Champasak province, 2) compare the participation of local villager's for urban development in Pakse city, Champasak province classified by personal factors, using a questionnaire as a tool in the study. The research collected data with questionnaires from 364 samples from the people who were the local villagers' in Pakse City Champasak province. Data were analyzed by frequency percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test and f-test using One-Way analysis of variance, ANOVA. When it is found that there are differences, it will compare the differences in pairs. The result of this study found that:
The level of local villagers' participation in Pakse city Champasak province. By overall was at moderate level )X(3.44-. When considering each aspect, it was found that the participation in decision making was at X-3.45, participation in the operation was at X=3.45, participation in receiving shared benefits was at X=3.45 and participation in the evaluation X-3.45.
The results of the comparison of villagers' participation in urban development at Pakse city, Champasak province were found that: villagers' with different gender, age, educational levels, occupations and income was not at different level. Therefore, rejecting the settle research hypothesis.
