Abstract
The purpose of this study is to study the factors that affect the research of teachers-professors in Champasak University. It is a quantitative research study. The tool used to collect data is a questionnaire. For the population used in the study, teachers-professors in Champasak University, Using the formula to calculate the number of sample groups using the Krejcie & Morgan (1970) formula, there were 183 people. The statistics used are: frequency, percentage and use Logit Model, which is studied in 5 main factors: personal factors, social factors and research conditions, motivational factors, attitude factors and university support factors
The results of the analysis of opinions on social characteristics and the conditions of doing research are: experience in training how to conduct research and studying research work. most of them have received training and studying research work before, there are 105 people, 57.38%, In terms of experience in doing research, most of the experience in doing research has never done research before. There are 133 people, 72.68%. In terms of participating in academic forums, most of them have never participated in academic forums. There are 102 people, 55.74% and in terms of plans to do research in the future, most of them have plans to do research
in the future. There are 113 people, 61.75%.
Estimated results on the factors that affect the research of teachers-teachers in Champasak University using Logit Model, studied in 5 factors in the study in which there are 3 factors that affect the research of teachers-teachers in Champasak University: Personal information factors such as gender and age, motivational factors are: doing research to seek knowledge and create skills for oneself and to use the work to apply for an academic position And the support factor from the university is the allocation of sufficient research funds, the allocation of awards to those who have research results and the promotion of teachers to have time to conduct research, which is statistically significant with an expectation level of 0.01.
