Abstract

Experiment using bio-Extract on growth and yield of lettuce and soil fertility. The objectives are 1). To study the number of nutrients contained in bio-Extract. 2). To study the effect of using bio-Extract from various ripe fruits on the growth and yield of lettuce and 3). To study the soil fertility before and after the application of bio-Extract in the cultivation of lettuce. The experiment was carried out at the Experimental Center for Integrated in the Plateau Area, Paksong District, Champasak Province. By using 4 different bio- Extract: T1 = bio- Extract from fruit, T2 = bio- Extract from Soybean (Liquid Urea), T3 = bio- Extract from Pig manure, and T4 = bio-Extract from cattle manure. For data analysis, the growth and yield components of lettuce were compared using the ANOVA table comparing the average values of each experiment by LSD (Least Significant Difference) using the Statistic 10 program. Also, analyzed for nutrients in the soil such as Total% N, Total% P2O5, Total K2O, OM%, and pH of the soil according to standard chemical methods.

The results of this experiment found that: the effectiveness of the use of bio-Extract has an effect on the growth and yield of lettuce, in addition, the 4 bio-Extracts have the effect of improving soil fertility. It is Treatment 1 that uses bio- Extract from fruit at the rate of 30 cc/20L of water such as height growth = 18.43-19.57 cm, leaf width = 13.25-14.93 cm, canopy = 21.96-23.60 cm, and a number of leaves = 9.85-11.75 cm. The use of bio- Extract from fruit at the rate of 30 cc/20L water resulted in higher weight/plant and higher yield/hectare compared to the use of bio- Extract from Soybean (Liquid Urea), bio-Extract from Pig manure, and bio-Extract from cattle manure. In addition, the bio-

Extract from fruit will increase the weight per plant of lettuce by 116.60 g, with a yield of 4.85 kg/2m2 and a yield of 24,250 kg/ha. and have a net profit equal to 212,067 kips.

Therefore, the bio- Extract from fruit is a treatment that can increase productivity, can generate economic returns, and can replace the use of chemical fertilizers. Also, the information obtained can be used to reduce the use of chemical fertilizers. This is to obtain a safe product and an environmentally friendly production process.
