Abstract

Studying the  Factors Influencing Students’ Decision to Study in The Southern of Lao Teachers Training Colleges aims to study the students' perception of the teacher education at the Teacher's College and the Pakse Teacher Training College, to compare the factors that influence the decision to enter the teacher's course at Saravan Teacher Training College and  Pakse Teacher Training College by gender, educational institution and class and to study the students' opinions on how to improve the teacher's course to be more interesting in the future. The results of the study: 1) Students' perceptions of teacher education at  Saravan Teacher Training College and Pakse Teacher Training College. 2) Factors that influence the decision to enter the teaching profession at Saravan Teacher Training College and Pakse Teacher Training College by gender, educational institution and class. The internal factor has an average value at the very agreeable level, the external factor has a moderate average score. and 3) Students' opinions on how to improve the teacher's course to be more interesting in the future, overall at the opinion level of 'most agree' with mean value = 3.90, (S.D = 0.69)
