Analysis of pesticide residues in vegetables in Paksong area, Champasack province, Lao.PDR

This study proposes to residue monitoring the quantitative effects of pesticides in two target groups, organophosphate, and pyrethroid in four vegetable samples as cabbage, China cabbage, chili, and long beans. from 5 villages in Champasak Province, the pesticide analysis technique in vegetable samples was based on the AOAC 2007.

Abstract

This study proposes to residue monitoring the quantitative effects of pesticides in two target groups, organophosphate, and pyrethroid in four vegetable samples as cabbage, China cabbage, chili, and long beans. from 5 villages in Champasak Province, the pesticide analysis technique in vegetable samples was based on the AOAC 2007.01 QuEChERS technique provided the best results in terms of the lower amount of matrix, using acetonitrile as the solvent and n-hexane. Extracts and cleaned up with primary secondary amine, and analysis in Gas Chromatography: GC-ECD/FPD). Agilent Technology 6890. It will be detected in laboratories of agricultural and food industry centers Champasak University, the linearity of the calibration curves was satisfied in matrix-matched standard solution with R2 ≥ 0.999. The limits of detection and limits of quantification were 0.02-0.05 and 0.03-0.05 mg/kg respectively. provided good recovery (between 61 to 118%) and relative percent difference (< 15 %). Analysis of pesticide residues monitoring in 4 types of vegetables from 5 villages as: Kong Tun, Huai Set, Nongsoung, Tongkalong and Kathua Villages, Paksong district, Champasak province. In this work, a total of 20 samples were in this round 4 of were detected of all vegetables in China cabbage, cabbage, peppers chili, and long bean, and in the group: organophosphate was all 23 compounds pesticide found only chlorpyrifos and   pyrethroids were all 8 found three as Bifenthrin, Fenpropathrin, and Cyhalothrin all the residue amounts non exceed the range of the Maximum Residue Limits (MRLs) codex Alimentarius FAO-WHO and National Bureau of Agricultural Commodity and Food Standards Ministry of  Agriculture and Cooperatives in Thailand.
