Utilization of Different Levels (0; 10; and 20%) of Dried Water Hyacinth for Pigs

Study on the utilization of Water Hyacinth for pigs. Nine of the Large White + Landrace + Duroc pigs with 8 kilograms of average initial body weight were used. They were arranged by RCBD divided into 3 treatments with 4 replications. Each group was fed adlib with diets containing 0; 10 and 20% of Water Hyacinth, Each experimental diet was adjusted as the same 14% crude protein of the diet. The duration of the test were finished when the body weight of pigs were 39-40 kilograms. The result showed that increasing levels of the Water Hyacinth meal from 0-10% in the diets were significant difference (P>0.05) in average daily gain, feed intake, feed conversion ratio and cost of feed per gain.
