The objectives of this study were: To investigate the perceptions of higher education students at Champasak University regarding their future educational prospects and to compare the perceptions of higher education students at Champasak University regarding their future educational prospects across different faculties. The participants in this study comprised fourth-year students from six faculties at Champasak University enrolled in the 2024–2025 academic year, totaling 679 students. The research instruments included questionnaires and statistical analyses of the collected data. The analyses encompassed percentages, means, standard deviations, and F-tests for mean comparisons.
The findings revealed the following:
- Students’ Attitudes toward Their Future Education: The overall level of students’ attitudes toward their future education was high (µ = 4.12, σ = 0.24).
- Opportunities and Self-Development: Students’ perceptions of opportunities and self-development were at a high level (µ = 4.90, σ = 0.33).
- Financial Concerns: Students’ concerns regarding expenses were at the highest level (µ = 4.89, σ = 10).
- Quality of Education: The perceived quality of education was at a moderate level (µ = 2.65, σ = 0.35).
- Labor Market Demand: Students’ perceptions of labor market demand were at a high level (µ = 4.46, σ = 0.39).
- Comparison by Faculty: A comparison of students’ perceptions across different faculties revealed no statistically significant differences regarding their future educational prospects.
