Abstract

The purposes of this study were 1) to study the efficiency of English language reading comprehension lesson plans by using CIRC technique for year 3 English teacher students with the set criteria E1/E2 = 80/80; 2) to study the index of effectiveness in learning English language reading comprehension by using CIRC; 3) to study the satisfaction of students towards teaching-learning English language reading comprehension by using CIRC technique. The target group of this study consisted of 24-year 3 English teacher students 12+4 systems at Pakse Teacher Training College in the first semester of academic year 2021-2022. The target group was purposively selected. The research instruments for the study were 5 lesson plans, tests for evaluation the learning outcome of the students with 25 items and the set of questionnaires with 20 items for seeking the student’s satisfaction. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics including percentages (%), mean ( ) and standard deviation (S.D).The research findings were as follows: The efficiency of lesson plans for teaching-learning English language reading comprehension by using CIRC technique for  year 3 English teacher students was E1/E2 = 80.38/83.16 which was higher than the set criteria of 80/80.The index of effectiveness in learning English language reading comprehension by using CIRC technique for  year 3 English teacher students was E.I = 0.66. The students’ satisfaction towards the teaching-learning English language reading comprehension by using CIRC techniques was generally at high level.
