Abstract

The main purpose of this research is to study the state of development of education and sports administrators in Sekong province, with 4 specific objectives set in this research: 1) Study the current situation 2) Study the needs 3) Study the guidelines 4) Study the relationship between the current situation and the needs and guidelines for the development of education and sports administrators in Sekong province; The target group used in this research is the director and deputy director of the Department of Education and Sports, the director and deputy director of the department, the director and deputy director of the office, the director and deputy director of the unit under the Department of Education and Sports, the director and deputy director of secondary schools in 4 cities in Sekong Province, with a total of 286 people. The tools used in this research have two types: semi-structured interviews and questionnaires. The statistics used this time are: Descriptive Statistics and Reference Statistics (Inferetail Statistics).

The research results found that:

  1. The current state of development of educational administrators as a whole is at a very high level with an average value equal to ( =3,56; SD=0,60) and the highest average value is in the area of executive development planning with an average value equal to ( =3,99; SD=0,51); Followed by the assessment of executive performance ( =3,93; SD=0,54) while the aspect with the lowest average value is the lesson exchange aspect ( =2,90; SD = 1,10).
  2. The need for the development of education and sports administrators in Sekong

province as a whole is very high ( =4,00; SD=0,52); The highest average value is attitude towards management ( =4,18;SD=0,74) followed by management skills ( =3,96;SD=0,72) while the lowest average value is management knowledge ( =3,88;SD=0,61).

3. Guidelines for the development of education and sports administrators in Sekong province including opinions at many levels with an average value equal to ( =3,70; SD= 0,56); The highest average value is in the aspect of educational development planning ( =3,99; SD=0,52), followed by the use of budget ( =3,70; SD = 0,74), the lowest average value is in the area of administrative training ( =3,25; SD=1,00).

4. The relationship between the current state of development and the need for development and the development of education and sports administrators in Sekong Province.

  • The current situation in the development of education and sports administrators with the direction in the development of education and sports administrators at the highest level and in the same direction (r = 0,97) with statistical significance at the 0,05 level.
