Abstract

This research topic is about the use of textbooks and teacher's guides in Lao language. The revised curriculum for primary education in Pakse city, the purpose (1) to recognize the level of opinion of primary school teachers in year 1, year 2 and year 3 who have been trained (2) To find out the problem of implementing the use of the updated teacher's guide for primary education in the teaching of Lao language for teachers who teach the first year of primary education year 2, and year 3. (3) To find ways and methods of development related to the use of the updated teacher's guide for primary education in teaching. To get good results of learning and teaching Lao language subjects, the sample group used in this study is primary school teachers in the 1st year, 2nd year and 3rd year who have been trained in the use of teacher's guides and textbooks in Lao language by to the updated curriculum. All the trainees including sample groups are 116 people on this research, the sample group used this time by the sample group from sample group of 101 people.

The results of the research found that from the gender analysis, it was found that the majority of the sample group was female with 71 people 70.30%, male with 30 people 29.70% who were trained teachers.  Most of the educational qualifications are diploma number of 58 people 57.43%  vocational level 21 people 20.79%, bachelor’s level 22 people 21.78%, from the analysis of working age data, it was found that most of them have 11-15 years of teaching experience, there are 52 people, 51.49%, 1-5 years are 6 people 5.94%, 6 -10 years are 14 people 13.86%, 16 years and above are 29 people 28.71%, the analysis of each aspect shows that: (1) The teacher's teaching situation according to the textbooks and teacher's guides according to the new curriculum content and the preparation of the lesson plan following the steps of the teacher who teaches Lao language in the first grade, the second grade and the third grade. There is a high level of truth with the mean value Mean  = 4.49 and standard deviation S.D = 0.78.

It means that the teacher's teaching is according to the textbook and the Lao language teacher's guide in this class is good. (2) The teacher's teaching situation according to the course content, In each step, there is a high level of truth with the average value Mean = 4.46 and the standard deviation S.D = 0.68, It means that all the problems identified in the questionnaire are sufficiently well implemented by the teachers, and has been developing more and more, showing that the teacher's teaching situation at each stage of the course content is a new challenge, but it makes this teaching more flexible and modern, which shows the results of the overall analysis with Mean x valu  =4.46 and the standard deviation S.D = 0.68 is good. (3) That shows the condition of teaching methods and teaching skills of teachers according to the Lao language course (listening, speaking, reading and writing). There is a high level of truth with the mean value Mean  = 1.23 and standard deviation S.D = 0.37, which means that the teaching methods and teaching skills of teachers are suitable to the Lao language course (listening, speaking, reading and writing) is agreed in the analysis of the questionnaire which has Mean  = 1.23 and standard deviation S.D = 0.37. (4) The condition of using the grading criteria of the teacher according to the new Lao language curriculum, there is a high level of truth with the average value of Mean = 4.40  and the standard deviation S.D = 0.77,  it means that using the grading criteria of the teacher  of the new Lao language curriculum is averaged,  that shows on the  analysis of the questionnaire which has the value of Mean  = 4.40 and the standard deviation S.D = 0.77,

(5) The teacher's help to students who are weak in studying Lao language, the truth at a high level shows the analysis of the questionnaire, which has a mean value of Mean  = 2.58 and a standard deviation value of S.D = 0.92.  

      The results of this research has become a guide and recommendations for teachers in using the teacher's guide and textbook for the Lao language curriculum in the revised version of the primary education in Pakse city. In order to provide information to those who are interested in developing the curriculum for the use of guides and textbooks in the Lao language in the future to be perfect and accessible to students to explore more on their own. At the same time, it is very useful for primary education teachers in year 1, year 2 and year 3 and teachers in the other grades throughout Champasak province.  Find out more the better ways of teaching and learning of the teacher to settle of the teacher's guide and textbook in the updated curriculum in the primary education throughout Champasak province.
